A quill stem and carbon seatpost form his body and neck. Seat rails create his beak and also his tail. His legs are brake levers and v-brake arms. These sculptures are part art, part enigineering because the pieces must all bolt together firmly. Unlike with welding, where you can pretty much “glue” components together however you want, these rely typically on existing holes, bolts and fastenings. They must also be strong enough to hold together while being handled, as the sculptures on display at Pacific Bicycle Company are touched by many customers.
